Deuce and Aldeen were close at Great Oaks Academy. They often challenged each other to see who was going to get the best grade. They both took the test to go to IAM and both got in.
Every year, we reach out to Dr. Strong and she has always been a pleasure to work with. Making sure we get everything needed to award the scholarships to the graduating students of IAM
We had no idea it would be so cold. The weather was unbelievable for the month of June. It was freezing, but we stayed right there through the entire ceremony. Deuce would call us crazy and be proud at the same time.
Milan became the president of the National Art Honors Society where he was able to bring over 50 art students together virtually to create art together during the pandemic. He is the 2021 Recipient of the $1,000 scholarship.
Allisa's dream is to being a multimedia graphic designer by working for companies like Pixar or Dreamworks. She hopes to one day own her own company called Ethereal.
We truly can't thank the International Academy of Macomb enough for helping us keep Deuce's legacy of the love for education and art alive.
As the graduates began to walk to their seats, I imagined Deuce was right in line. He would be mad because it was literally freezing that day. He would also be so proud that he finished High School and was on his way to Michigan State University.
Deuce probably would have know who this girl was, but may not have talked to her much. He would be happy that she was able to stand in the cold and sing the song so beautifully.
The graduates all gathered in this area to take a final picture. When the picture was taken, they all through their graduation caps in the air. Deuce would not have thrown his cap in the air. He would have complied with gathering and taking a picture, but no way would he throw his hat in the air and not be able to find it amongst all the other hats.
